Learning of a foreign language is exciting. It affords the opportunity to travel around the world and speak the language of the natives. It helps you expand your horizons, travel around the world, communicate with your friends and neighbors who come from foreign lands. It also provides you with greater job potential to work with the government, multinational corporations or work overseas where economies are growing by leaps & bound.

The Dominican International Institute offers several foreign languages to choose from:.

  1. Arabic
  2. Chinese
  3. French
  4. German
  5. Hindi / Urdu
  6. Japanese
  7. Spanish

Each program
consists of one trimester or 3 months of study or 45 clock-hours each.
Trimesters begin on first Monday of January, April, July and October each year

Programs are divided into:
  1. Basic This course is intended for students who have very limited or no knowledge of the language. The students will build competence in grammar as well as all four skills areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Through class activities, emphasis will be placed on oral proficiency, pronunciation and communication skills. An appreciation of the culture will be an integral part of the course
  2. Intermediate Students successfully completing the Basic Level will be able to continue with the Intermediate level of learning.
  3. Advance The Advance level students are expected to carry-on conversation in the language of their choice after completing the basic & intermediate levels.
The student should also be able to write short essays and be able to understand the language.

- Classes will be held twice per week for 2 hours each
- Books & Dictionary are not included
